How do I log on to Nucleus?

Nucleus is available as a Quick Link on the MCRI Intranet home page or can be accessed via https://nucleus.mcri.edu.au.
Chrome (by Google) is the recommended browser for Nucleus. Please use your MCRI username and password to login. Contact MCRI IT if you need to reset the password.

If you are at home or offsite, you will need to connect to MCRI via VPN first using your computer or mobile device. If you have never used VPN at MCRI, click here to register for VPN access. For VPN instructions, refer to KB50236 for Windows, KB50232 for Mac or KB50234 for Linux.
Chrome (by Google) is the preferred browser for Nucleus, so if you don’t have it installed on your home computer or mobile device, be sure to download and install it.
Once you have established a VPN connection, access Nucleus via https://nucleus.mcri.edu.au.
If you are prompted to login to Nucleus, please use your MCRI username and password.

I’m receiving warning messages (with a yellow exclamation mark) when I try to submit leave for a day in the past. Is this an error?
No, you can ignore the warning messages and send the request. These messages are intended to just let you know that your request will require correcting prior attendances because the date is in the past.
How do I know if my leave has been processed?
You will receive an email notification when the leave is approved or rejected. You can also view the status of your application by clicking “Leave Request Overview” within the “Leave” section.
What happens when there is concurrent employment (multiple assignments)?
Some information such as the details/changes in the “Personal Information” section is shared between assignments.
Other information is specific to each assignment. You will be required to choose an assignment to view/ update information or submit requests.

I'm a new hire and I am having trouble accessing Learning using the credentials I used for onboarding paperwork.
If you are a new hire, please note that the account you used to complete the new starter paperwork was a temporary one. A new account is created for you in our HR Information System called Nucleus. The access for this and your computer login details are emailed to your line manager and to your MCRI email account. Please contact your line manager or MCRI IT if you haven't received this email.
I am unable to access Learning from Nucleus- an SAP SuccessFactors log in screen appears.
Please use Chrome (by Google) as the browser to launch online content and always allow pop-ups from https://performancemanager10.successfactors.com.
If the log in screen appears still then please ensure that 'Block third-party cookies' is disabled in Chrome Settings (at the top right corner, click on customise and control > Settings > Advanced (at the bottom ) > Site Settings (within Privacy and security)> Cookies> disable Block third-party cookies).

Can I use a mobile device to complete training?
No, the learning content cannot be launched on mobile devices.
When I try to start learning courses using Chrome, I get a pop up with the heading "icontent" and the message: "Sorry. Your request has been denied."
Please clear your Chrome browser's cache, history and cookies and relaunch Nucleus.
Steps:
At the top right corner of Chrome window, click on customise and control --> More tools --> Clear browsing data --> Choose ‘All time’ from ‘Time range’ drop-down options --> tick Browsing history, Cookies and other site data, Cached images and files --> Clear Data
I'm receiving a validation error stating "failed to authenticate the SAML response. If this keeps happening, please contact the administrator".
Please allow third-party cookies on your Chrome browser by following the below steps:
Close the browser window and re-launch Nucleus for the applications to function properly.
Even though I completed learning modules on Nucleus, it still remains on my profile as incomplete.
This issue occurs if there are unclicked links with further information within the learning content or if Nucleus was left unattended for some time. Contact your Learning Administrator if the problem persists.
As a line manager, can I assign someone else to approve training requests?
Yes, you can use the “Delegate” feature to assign someone else to complete your approvals.

Why am I not able to view my direct reports in Staff Change Forms?
Ensure you are logged on to Nucleus using Chrome as the browser and selected the right form. Staff Changes, Extensions and Departures Form for paid and unpaid staff and Student Changes, Extensions and Departures Form for students.
How do I select employees to initiate staff change requests?
Select the employee’s row and click “Select Employee” to view the form and initiate change requests.

How do I proxy as another user?
If you have the authorisation to proxy as another user, you will see a “Proxy Now” option in the drop down list to the right of your name on the top right corner of the Talent Management Home Page. Click on it and enter the name of the target user by clicking on the name from the predictive search result. Click here for more details.
My Job Requisitions Page does not display all requisitions, what do I do?
Check subsequent pages by clicking next page on the right hand side of the Job Requisitions Page or click “Clear all filters” to reset the page with all requisitions.
How do I display more columns of information on the Job Requisition List?
Click “Display Options” on the Job Requisitions page, select the desired options and click “Update Screen”. Click here for more details.
How do I check where my requisitions are in the approval process?
Click “Display Options” and select the “Currently With” checkbox. This will update the screen with an additional column to show the chosen details.
How can someone create a new job requisition on my behalf?
You can assign proxy (delegation) rights to users to create new requisitions on your behalf and to shortlist candidates. Click here for the steps to follow.
Can I copy an existing requisition to create a new one?
Yes, while creating a new requisition, you will have the option to either use a blank template or copy an existing requisition to which you are associated. While copying requisitions, verify that all the information is correct or make changes specific to that position before it is submitted.
What does “Due Date” mean on the “Create New Job Requisition” page?
The Due Date is used to trigger email notifications for pending requisition approvals. The default date can be left as it is.
How can I see the approval path for a requisition?
The requisition will show the approval path at the top of the form. You can see where the requisition has been and its next steps.
How do I access requisition form to approve?
Click “Recruiting” from the Talent Management "Home" drop-down menu and select the requisition form. The task will also appear on your “To Do” tile on the Talent Management Home Page with a link to access the form.

Can I send a requisition back to the previous approver?
Yes, if the requisition needs changes, you can mention the changes to be made in the “Comments” field and send it back to the previous approver in the workflow by clicking on the “Send back to..” button.

As an approver, can I reject a requisition?
No, a requisition can only be sent back to the previous approver in the workflow. Once the requisition has reached the originator, they will be able to delete or resubmit if required.
As a hiring manager, can I invite another user to assist with shortlisting candidates?
Yes, you can select a user in the “Secondary Hiring manager” field in the requisition form to assist you with shortlisting candidates. This user will have the same permission as you in the shortlisting process.
How do I shortlist candidates?
You can shortlist candidates with the help of talent pipeline statuses. When candidates apply, they will show up under New Application status. As you review candidates, those who meet minimum qualifications can be moved to Review for further consideration. Candidates may also be moved straight to any other status such as the Interview/ Not for Interview (within Review status) if further review is not needed. Note that moving candidates to statuses such as New Application, Unsuccessful, Automatic Disqualified will trigger automated email to the candidates.
Once you have identified the candidate to be hired, move him/her to the Successful Candidate status. This will trigger an automated email to HR to start the pre-employment process. Finally, once HR initiates the onboarding process for the candidate you will receive an email notification to move all other candidates to the Unsuccessful status.

Why am I not able to view candidates?
The number displayed on talent pipeline statuses shows the no. of candidates within those statuses. Click on a status to view the candidates within that status. You can also click on the View all candidates link at the top right corner of the screen above the talent pipeline status bar to view all candidates.
Do I need to inform HR once a successful candidate is selected?
No, an automated email will be sent to HR once you move a candidate in the “Successful Candidate” status in the talent pipeline. You will also be cc’d in the email notification to HR.
